Stokes Books was established in 1983. Initially trading from premises in Clanbrassil Street, the shop moved to its present location in 1989.

With a stock of over 10,000 volumes, on a huge variety of subjects, priced between €5 and €5,000, the shop offers something for every pocket.  The major specialisation of Stokes Books is Irish History and Literature. Catalogues on this subject are issued regularly on application, free of charge.  Stokes Books also offers a free Book Search Service. With contacts built up over 20 years in the book trade, Stokes Books will endeavour to trace that elusive volume on your behalf.  Valuation for Probate and Insurance are also offered.

The shop is open between 10.30am and 6.00pm Monday to Saturday.  A warm welcome is extended to browsers, collectors, academics and librarians, or the merely curious.
